At IICD students are encouraged to explore their skills and find their own design approach towards craft through regular interaction with crafts people, industry experts, and domain experts. The learning’s are utilized in their diploma and industry projects too.

Students are engaged in extra curricular activities and cultural events where they celebrate festivals and organize the students’ Fest “Chaupad”.

For any institute its alumni are an integral support for future growth. With this respect IICD makes every effort to constantly engage with the alumni body for continued interaction, feedback, and identifying further possibilities. on regular basis the institute organizes alumni meets. Within this cycle IICD has organized its recent alumni meet in conjunction with the fifth convocation on the 16th February 2016.

The various UG and PG design programmes provide students with the means to grow as sensitive, creative designers and practitioners of craft with clear goals to contribute towards Indian culture and society as a global citizen. IICD teaches with a unique pedagogy that synergizes traditional knowledge and skills with contemporary methodologies.
