To be eligible for the master of design India, the candidate should be a graduate from the design or architecture field for the 2-year course or should be a graduate from a non-design course for the 3-year course.

The admission process for the master of design degree starts with an entrance test which includes General Awareness, Creativity, and Perception tests to judge the abilities such as estimation of sizes and proportions, observation, synthesis, and visual interpretation, followed by Material, Color, and Conceptual tests which tests the
  1. Intelligent use of materials, realization, and conceptualization of a 3-D form of skill and handling materials.
  2. To observe, calculate, create solutions, based on logical strategy.
  3. Ability to provide multiple solutions to a particular problem with a theoretical approach as well.

And the last process is the personal interview which is conducted to know the candidate personally and check them in the following categories:

  • Aptitude towards crafts
  • Reasoning and Intelligence quotient (IQ)
  • Ability to communicate proficiently
  • Having General Awareness about Designs and Crafts
  • Overall achievements in academics and co-curricular activities as well.

The NRI students will follow the same pattern as per the Indian students. The candidates should obtain a valid residence permit or a student visa for the prescribed duration of the course. In case the candidate cannot travel for the interview, they can send the following through an email:

  • Statement of purpose
  • Portfolio or work samples
