IICD in collaboration with Michigan State University is organizing a Summer programme in the months of May - July 2024. It is a documentary filmmaking programme focusing on crafts and design in and around Jaipur. The initial secondary research work will begin in the first week of May in the form of online meetings whereas the hands-on field work will be from May 30th to July 5th, 2024.


  • Students enrolled at IICD and those from MSU will meet at Delhi on 30 th May.
  • May 30 – June 2: Excursion to Delhi and Agra.
  • June 3-7: Full group instruction in research design, filmmaking basics for field research/documentation, deeper introduction to Indian crafts, carefully plan filming schedule with group craft clusters/communities, storyboarding for film projects.
  • June 8-16: Team/group field research and filming with craft communities.
  • June 17-30: Data analysis, theme development, Interview coding and film editing.
  • July 1-5: Finalise Films.
  • July 3-4: Film screenings at a public space for larger viewership.
  • July 5: Full group reflection, celebration, and fellowship at IICD campus.
  • Official end of program is July 5.


    The fee is inclusive of the following:
  • - Excursion to Delhi and Agra (food, accommodation and travel).
  • - Breakfast, dinner and accommodation for 32 days in Jaipur.
  • - Program Instructional cost.
  • - Certificate on completion of program from IICD and MSU.
