2. Degree Programmes Offered At IICD
IICD offers the following Bachelor in Design (B. Des.) & Master in Design (M. Des.) in Crafts & Design programme recognized by Central University of Rajasthan (CUR) for the academic Session 2018-19. Degrees will be awarded by Central University of Rajasthan (CUR).

a) B. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR

Duration: 4 Years (8 semesters)

Specialisation:

  • Soft Material Design Seats: 25
  • Hard Material Design Seats: 25
  • Fired Material Design Seats: 25
  • Fashion Design Seats: 25

Selection/ Assignment of Discipline

The Selection of the students to each of the specialization (i.e. SMD, HMD, FMD, FD) will be on the basis of his/her performance in the foundation year and the aptitude shown. The decision will be taken by a jury/ committee duly constituted by IICD.

b) M. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR

Duration: 2 Years (4 semesters)

Specialisation:

  • Soft Material Specialisation Seats: 20
  • Hard Material Specialisation Seats: 20
  • Fired Material Specialisation Seats: 20

Selection/ Assignment of Discipline

The Selection of the students to each of the specialisation (i.e. SMS, HMS, FMS) will be on the basis of his/her performance in the foundation semester and the aptitude shown. The decision will be taken by a jury/ committee duly constituted by IICD.

Note: IICD reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of seats in each specialisation of B. Des. & M. Des. in Crafts & Design programme recognized by Central University of Rajasthan (CUR).

3. Who can apply?

a.     B. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR

  • 10+2 from a recognized board of education.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

b.     M. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR

  • Graduates in any discipline with an aptitude towards craft, fashion or design.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

“Candidates appearing for their qualifying examinations can also apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to obtaining the defined eligibility latest by ( Exact Date will be given later ). In case any candidate fails to submit the defined eligibility certificates by due date, he/ she will not be able to continue his/her studies at IICD. In such cases, the semester tuition fee will not be refunded however, the admission will be valid for the next year with the new semester fees provided the defined eligibility is obtained.”

4. Admission Guidelines for Foreign Nationals / NRI Category
  • The Foreign Nationals / NRI candidates seeking admission to IICD must have qualifications similar or equivalent to that required for Indian Candidates. The candidates selected under this category would need to obtain a valid residential permit or student visa for the prescribed duration of the programme and / or any other condition required as per the law of land (Government of India). The candidate must go through the process of entrance exam. In case the candidate is unable to travel to one of the centers in India, then they are required to send the following: –
    1. a. Statement of purpose
    2. b. Portfolio or work samples, latest by (Exact Date will be given later) to admissions@iicd.ac.in.

    The candidate will have to appear for a skype interview. The date of which will be intimated by (Exact Date will be given later).

  • The medium of instruction at IICD is English and all aspirants applying to IICD are expected to possess working knowledge of the English language.
5. Reservation of Seats
25% of seats are reserved for students who are domicile residents of Rajasthan.
6. How to get your Prospectus
The Prospectus for Admission 2018-19 sessions will be available at IICD website: www.iicd.ac.in.
7. Filling the Application Form
The application has to be filled up online at: Registration for Online test 2018-19
8. Admission Process Fee
The Admission process fee for Indian Candidates is Rs.1,500/- (Rs. One Thousand Five Hundred only) and for NRI/ Foreign National Candidates is Rs. 3000/- (Rs. Three Thousand only). The fee is non-refundable.
9. Entrance Test Guidelines for B. Des. & M. Des. in Crafts & Design Programmes
The Admission form submitted on or before the due date will be processed for Entrance Test.
9.1 Entrance Test Centers

The IICD Entrance Test will be conducted at eight locations as mentioned in the box. The candidate can indicate his/her choices of 3 (three) Test centers in order of preferences.

(IICD reserves the right to cancel or change the test center/date.)

9.2 Admit Card

  • You will have to bring the print out of your Admit Card for entrance test along with self-attested recent passport size photographs firmly pasted on it. Admit card is essential for entrance in Examination Hall.
  • Admit Card will be mailed for eligible candidates only (refer IICD website) by ( Exact date will be given later ), on the candidates email id.
  • You need to bring at least one original (not photo copy or scanned copy) photo identification. The name on your photo identification must match your name as entered in Registration form for Entrance Test. Acceptable forms of photo identification types are limited to Driver’s License, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, UID or Identity card of last school.

9.3 Entrance Test Detail for B. Des. & M. Des. in Crafts & Design Programmes

Weightage of the Tests/Interview as follows:

a. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test 35%
b. Material, Color & Conceptual Test 45%
c. Personal Interview 20%

a. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test

Test is designed to judge the abilities such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness.

b. Material, Color & Conceptual Test

This test will assess the following abilities:

  1. Intelligent use of materials, conceptualize and realize a 3 dimensional form, skill of handling material.
  2. To observe, think and expand ideas, create solution based on a plan and strategy.
  3. Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.
  • Material required for Material, Color & Conceptual Test: You must bring pens, pencils (2B, 4B & 6B), scissor, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, color pencils/dry pastels/water color etc.

c. Interview

To evaluate the individual personality in the prospective candidates:

  • Aptitude to crafts
  • Intelligence quotient (IQ)
  • Communication Ability
  • General Awareness about Crafts & Design
  • Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.

Portfolio – It is advisable to bring some examples of your creative work to show the interview panel. This would help them to understand your capabilities. It could be anything that you have done yourself. sketching, painting, embroidery, photography, worked with material, or written anything creative.

Note:

  • IICD reserves the right to cancel and/or add any Test Centre.
  • An email will be sent to you to intimate announcement of result or your Admission. The list of selected candidates will also be uploaded on www.iicd.ac.in.
  • The decision of the Admission Committee and Management of IICD in any of the matters concerning the admission process and selection will be final.
  • All selected candidates will get intimation of their selection through an Admission Letter, which will be sent through email. Details regarding payment of fees at the time of admission, allotment of Hostel and date, time and venue of commencement of the academic session will be mentioned in the admission letter.
  • Offer of admission will be valid only for the current academic session 2018-19.
  • There is a possibility that the Admission Committee recommends your admission in a programme for which you have not applied in the application Form. In such cases an option will be given to you on your admission informing you of the change and you may give your consent for the same. The selection letter will be couriered to you only after receiving your consent.
  • IICD does not recommend any coaching classes.
  • Any dispute arising out of admission would be under the jurisdiction of Jaipur, Rajasthan courts.

Ragging is strictly banned in IICD premises including hostel. Any student found guilty will be punished as per the guidelines of Honorable Supreme Court.

The Students of IICD are required to follow Rules and Regulations of the institute.

Note:

  • The above fee structure is applicable to students joining from academic year commencing from (Exact Date will be given later). There are two semesters in one academic year.
  • If a student fails to pay the fees on or before due date, or does not report to the institute even after three weeks of commencement of Academic Session (academic session commences on (Exact Date will be given later), his/her admission shall be liable to be cancelled.
  • The Institute reserves the right to revise the fees through prior notice to the students and his/her parents/guardians.
  • IICD reserves the right to revise the Hostel & Mess fees at any stage with prior notice.
12. Additional Academic Expenses to be borne by the student
  • The institute offers 4 years B. Des. and 2 years M. Des. in Crafts & Design programme recognized by CUR.
  • In addition to the Semester fee, hostel fee and mess fee the student may have to incur approximately Rs. 30,000/- for each semester towards materials, field visits and other miscellaneous educational expenses. All such study related and basic raw material expenses are to be borne by the students. The amount (Academic Expenses), as mentioned below, is not required to be paid to IICD. Such academic expenditure will be managed by the students themselves.
  • The details given below are only to provide information to parents/ students on Academic expenses, which may have to incur in a semester on materials, stationary, gadgets, field visits etc. This amount mentioned here may vary depending upon particular semester’s academic needs. The broad guidelines or details of such academic expenses are as follows:

13. Withdrawal of Admission & Refund of Fees Policy for B. Des. & M. Des. in Crafts & Design programmes
  • The Academic Session 2018-19 for Bachelor in Design (B. Des.) & Master in Design (M. Des.) in Crafts & Design programme recognized by Central University of Rajasthan (CUR) will commence from ( Exact date will be given later ).
  • Refund policy will be applicable in accordance to the number of days from the date of commencement of academic session i.e. (Exact Date will be given later).
  • The security amount will be fully refunded at the time of withdrawal of admission.
  • A written request for withdrawal of admission is to be submitted to the Deputy Registrar (Academics), IICD, Jaipur. The candidate will be required to surrender the original Admission Receipt issued at the time of Counseling/Admission while applying for withdrawal of admission. No request for withdrawal of admission would be entertained without original Admission Receipt.
  • Deduction is calculated from the date of receipt of application in the institute, the refund of fees paid will be based on the criteria mentioned below :

  • The Application for withdrawal must be submitted on working days between 10.00 am – 4.00 pm within the stipulated dates as mentioned above.
  • The decision of IICD on matters relating to refund or withdrawal of candidature will be final. No further appeal or representation in this regard will be entertained.
